2026 St. George Parade of Homes Review

Every February, the St. George Area Parade of Homes transforms Southern Utah into a destination for design inspiration and amazing architecture. This annual event showcases some of the most extraordinary new homes in the area, offering visitors a look at the latest in homebuilding, interiors, and lighting design. This parade featured 32 homes throughout St George Utah, and continued to push the boundaries of design and lighting. 

Here are our biggest lighting takeaways and favorite houses from the 2026 St. George Parade of Homes.

Statement Fixtures as the Focal Point

One of the most consistent themes throughout this year’s parade was the use of bold, oversized fixtures as the centerpiece of a room. Lighting is no longer just functional, it's the finishing element of the room.

In almost every room, designers selected chandeliers that acted as artwork, drawing the eye upward and anchoring the entire space. These fixtures added drama to any room and serve as a visual centerpiece.

Statement lighting continues to be one of the most effective ways to elevate a home, transforming even the simplest spaces into something unforgettable.

Layered Lighting Creates Depth and Warmth

Layered lighting was used to create balance and comfort throughout the homes. Rather than relying on a single overhead source, designers combined multiple types of lighting to create both functionality and atmosphere. This included a mix of decorative fixtures, recessed lighting, wall sconces, and accent lighting. Using various lighting elements not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of a room but also provides a practical solution for different lighting needs.

Throughout the parade we saw combinations of decorative chandeliers, recessed can lighting, table lamps, wall sconces, under cabinet lighting, and picture lighting.

Kitchen Lighting Blends Function and Style

The kitchen continues to be one of the most impressive spaces in the parade and lighting plays a key role in this. 

Oversized pendants and swagged chandeliers over the kitchen island were especially popular, these fixtures add visual weight to a space while defining the kitchen as the heart of the home. In addition to the oversized pendants we saw integrated tape lighting used to highlight kitchen cabinetry. This creates a kitchen that feels elevated, warm, and intentional.

Bathrooms With Elevated and Intentional Lighting

Bathroom lighting was another standout this year. Rather than using a standard vanity lighting, designers incorporated decorative fixtures that enhanced the overall design of the bathroom.

Some of our favorite trends include; Vertical sconces on each side of the mirror, pendants over the mirror, and pendant lighting over a freestanding tub.

One of the most noticeable trends was the use of vertical sconces flanking mirrors. This placement provides more even flattering light by reducing shadows on the face, which is a critical detail in bathroom lighting design. Beyond functionality, these fixtures added symmetry and a custom high-end look that immediately elevated the space and creating a spa like feel at home.

Lighting Highlighted Architectural Features

Beyond decorative fixtures, lighting was used strategically to emphasize architectural elements throughout the homes.

We saw tape lighting used to highlight ceiling details, staircases, built-ins, and accent walls. Tape lighting, also known as LED strip lighting, is a flexible low-profile light source that can be installed discreetly in places like ceiling coves, under stair treads, and beneath cabinetry. Because the fixture itself is hidden, it creates a clean, seamless glow that emphasizes the architecture rather than the light source. This type of lighting adds depth, dimension, and a custom feel.
