National Ceiling Fan Day

It’s National Ceiling Fan Day! To celebrate, here are a few ceiling fan tips to help you out. And don’t forget select fans are on sale for 20% OFF today.

  • Fans can be used in the summer AND winter. That’s right! In the summer, have your fan turn counter-clockwise to pull warm air up and push cool air down. In the winter, have your fan turn clockwise to distribute the warm air down throughout the house.
  • Try to aim for 12 inches between the fan blades and the ceiling. This allows for maximum airflow efficiency. If you have low ceilings look for fans with shorter downrods to help achieve this goal.
  • This one is a cleaning tip! Have you ever taken a duster to your fan blades only to have the dust fall everywhere? Use an old pillowcase to dust by slipping the case over each blade. As the dust falls the pillowcase will collect it!

Hopefully, you found some of these tips helpful! We love ceiling fans over here. If you have any questions on what ceiling fan will fit in your space email us at cs@lightingdesign.com.
