The lighting design was inspired by the desire to honor the illustrious past of The Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester, Minnesota while integrating elements that would ensure its continued relevance and appeal in the future. Research into the hotel's historical lighting fixtures revealed at least two different designs that had previously adorned the lobby. This research influenced the overall shape and tiered lighting aspects, which pay homage to the hotel's legacy. The final design features Fluted Glass Cylinder Shades and a Two-tone finish of Black and Brass, combining historical references with contemporary aesthetics. A crucial part of the hotel's transformative grand makeover and renovation is the installation of two exquisite chandeliers in the hotel's two-story lobby, a project designed to honor the hotel's legacy while embracing contemporary elegance. Our designers focused on identifying and integrating similar details from previous fixtures into the new design. This meticulous approach ensured that the new chandeliers would reflect the historical essence of the hotel while introducing a modern twist that aligns with the overall renovation. The Kahler Chandelier is featured in our American-made, American-designed, handcrafted Contemporary Lighting Collection, which is manufactured in Yorkville, New York. It is UL and cUL listed for dry and damp locations. The fixture is featured in the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester, Minnesota. Throughout the decades, the Kahler Grand Hotel has celebrated many milestones, including hosting US Presidents, and Princes and Princesses of foreign countries. The chandelier was designed by Christina Fluegel of PFW Designs of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
