This stunning shade is made from animal hide and is not a faux product. The life expectancy for natural rawhide shades can be limited due to shrinkage and drying. Faux materials may or may not meet the aesthetic quality of a natural material depending on individual taste. If longevity is paramount, please consider a faux rawhide material to ensure a lifetime of enjoyment. We are able to provide material samples for alternate shade options. This shade pairs well with a base to create a lamp or with hardware to build a stunning ceiling fixture.
